Pastor Yolounda Whitlow-Tyus is an Executive Director and Advisory Council Member.
She received her calling at any early age. She frequently told her father, “If I was a boy, I would preach!” Her gift was cultivated over the years, preaching and teaching the gospel throughout the country.
On August 27, 2017, she received a higher calling, being installed as Pastor of the New Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, founded in 1976 by her father and Senior Pastor, the Late Rev. Dr. Charles Lee Whitlow.
Pastor Yolounda is also an Executive Director and Proprietor of University of Tiny Town,
(Detroit, Michigan), a Christian-Based Learning Center and has multiple afterschool programs accommodating at-risk children in various schools throughout the Metro Detroit Area.
To date, Pastor Yolounda continues to promote the empowerment of women and youth and have been publishes and interviewed by local news and media networks, She is advocate for strengthening families, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Pastor Yolounda has three beautiful children, Ke”yara, Kirah, and Christopher, and her mother, the esteemed First Lady of the New Mt. Pisgah Church, Mrs. Nettie Whitlow.
Along with her life and spiritual journey, she obtained her undergraduate degree in Child Psychology and a certificate in teaching Kindergarten – 5th Grade from Wayne State University. She also has been accepted to Ashland Theological Seminary where she will pursue her Master & Degree in Counseling.
