A native of Enfield, North Carolina, Rev. Dr. Louise Young, fondly known as Dr. Lucy is the oldest of four (4) children born to the late Rev.& Mrs. Sidney M. Young. She received her early education in the Hampton Virginia Public School System. She furthered her education by obtaining an Associate degree in Computer Application; a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies; a Master of Science in Marketing; a Doctorate in Ministry and Continuing Education Units from Institutions of Higher Learning, ie. Howard University.

Her fruitful music ministry had its origin at the early age of 10 years old where her exceptional talent perpetuated mastery of the keyboard, voice and conducting. Her image and reputation personify the tenet that when “love and skill work together expect a masterpiece”. Numbers of faith based and cultural organizations have had their programs immeasurable blessed by her leadership and advocacy of the power of faith gained through music.

A one-word philosophy-devotion-undergirds her passion to perpetuate superior development of her proteges. Several prestigious recognitions have eclipsed her illustrious career. She received the degree, Doctor of Scared Music; She was installed and consecrated as a Minister of Music; She was invited to become a member of the Board of Trustees for the Richmond Virginia Seminary; She performed at Constitution Hall; African American Museum; Strathmore Music Center and was the only musician invited to sing at a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by President and Mrs. Clinton. The idea of hope, faith, responsibility and humility have guided her throughout her lifetime in living out the self-imposed motto” Music Is My Ministry”.
